Q. Do you offer an initial consultation?

A. I believe it's really important for us to speak before your first session, therefore I offer a 1/2 an hour introductory session at a reduced rate of £25.

Q. Do you work with any particular specialism?

A. I work with both adults and young people age 11+.  I'm very aware of how the changing world around us - from the global pandemic, social media and every day pressures that have had a huge impact on so many of us.

I have extensive experience working with many aspects of trauma - from psychological and physical abuse to childhood sexual abuse.

All of my work will touch on our relationships with others - whether it's family members, work or friendships. I work with clients to look at how they can be more authentic in the relationships around them and how they can express their needs safely and effectively.

As well as my private practice I work with a Hampshire charity to provide trauma informed therapy to clients who have experienced sexual abuse ranging from acute, chronic or complex.

In the past I have also worked with a  local charity to deliver wellness group therapy to survivors of domestic abuse.

I began my work with MIND the mental health charity and because of this have experience working with those diagnosed or seeking diagnoses for depression, anxiety, autism, ADHD, Bipolar, PTSD and Complex PTSD.

If I do not feel that I am the best counsellor for you I will signpost you accordingly.

 Q. How many sessions will I need?

A. Counselling can work in a number of different ways.  We can work in an open-ended way, allowing you to pause or stop when you'd like to or we can work on a fixed amount of sessions.  I always find that it's best to review where we are periodically, to ensure our work is meeting your needs.

Q. What qualifications do you have?

I hold a CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and also a CPCAB Level 5 Diploma to work therapeutically with young people age 11+.  I've also completed extensive training in trauma informed therapy.

Q. What happens if I need to cancel a session?

A. I ask for 24 hours' notice of a cancellation in which time I offer a full refund.

Q. What can I talk about?

A. The time is for you to discuss whatever is on your mind and work at your own pace.
